What to check before you drive

The three things that decide whether a place is any use to you, and the three things almost no listing tells you.

Refill or exchange?

A refill puts CO2 back into the tank you brought. An exchange takes your tank and hands you a different one. If your cylinder is new, engraved, or an odd size, exchange means you lose it. 164 of our 731 listings have confirmed they refill your own tank.

Is the CO2 food grade?

Anything you drink, homebrew, soda, kegerators, needs beverage or food grade CO2. Welding and paintball suppliers often carry industrial grade only, which is not certified for consumption. 167 listings have confirmed food grade CO2.

Do they handle your tank size?

5 lb and 20 lb are common; 10 lb, 50 lb, and SodaStream style cylinders are not universal. A shop that fills kegerator tanks may not touch a paintball bottle. Where a supplier has confirmed which sizes it handles, we list them.

What a blank field means

Every business here is real and we checked it exists, which already puts this ahead of the directories that invent addresses. But we have not confirmed every detail of every listing yet. Where a field is blank or marked call to confirm, it means the shop has not told us the answer, not that the answer is no. We are emailing suppliers city by city to fill those gaps, and each listing shows the month it was last checked so you can judge for yourself.
