Every CO2 supplier we could find in the Louisville area (Kentucky) was checked one by one, and 10 of them made the list. 4 will refill the cylinder you walk in with. 1 only swap it for a different tank, which matters if yours is new or an odd size. 5 would not confirm either way, so those are marked call to confirm rather than guessed at. 4 confirm food grade CO2 for anything you actually drink; the common sizes here are 5lb; most cover soda, welding, fire protection.

Official current site explicitly provides CO2 cylinder refill services for restaurants, bars, breweries, food service, fire protection, and specialty gas users. Its specialty-cylinder page states CO2 refills meet FDA food-grade standards for beverage applications. Current official contact information verifies the Shepherdsville facility, phone, email, and hours.
Official current Louisville branch page verifies the physical location and branch service email. Koorsen's current hydrostatic-testing guidance explicitly covers CO2 tanks used for soda machines and extinguishing systems and states that customers may leave cylinders at a local Koorsen branch for testing and refilling. Food-grade status and supported cylinder sizes were not established.

Official current site verifies the Louisville location and supplies food-grade CO2 cylinders for food and beverage use. Recent Louisville community evidence from January 2026 documents an actual 5 lb CO2 cylinder exchange at Welders Supply and describes the business as an exchange source. Because same-cylinder refill at this branch was not established with equally strong current evidence, the conservative classification is exchange. The email is an official company sales address.
Official current Louisville branch information verifies the facility and beverage CO2 service. Holston's current company site states that its beverage-grade CO2 inventory ranges from 20 lb cylinders to bulk tanks and that it distributes cylinder gases through its branch network. The public evidence does not clearly establish same-cylinder refill versus exchange at this branch, so those fields remain unknown. The email is Holston's official general quote address.
Current local business evidence verifies a Louisville NuCO2 depot at 134 Outer Loop. NuCO2's current official site confirms beverage carbonation service, certified beverage-grade CO2, high-pressure cylinder ordering, and its corporate customer-service email. Public walk-in portable-cylinder refill versus exchange behavior at the Louisville depot was not established.
Official current branch page verifies this practical-metro Clarksville store, branch-specific email, phone, and hours. Current Airgas branch evidence supports carbon dioxide availability, but the public branch page does not establish portable-cylinder refill versus exchange behavior, food-grade availability, or supported CO2 sizes.
Official current branch page verifies the exact physical store, branch-specific email, phone, and regular hours. Current Airgas branch and gas catalog evidence supports carbon dioxide availability, but branch-specific portable-cylinder refill versus exchange behavior, food-grade availability, and supported sizes were not established strongly enough to classify.
Official current branch page verifies this physical Louisville store, branch-specific email, phone, hours, and carbon dioxide availability among its gases. The public branch evidence does not establish portable-cylinder refill versus exchange behavior, food-grade availability, or supported CO2 sizes.
